ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND (T)HIS BOOK: Jean-Philippe Omotunde was born in Guadeloupe. He is the co-founder of the influential website Africamaat. A very serious researcher in history, he has authored several books in which he challenges the Eurocentric version of history. Omotunde is an intellectual powerhouse who is wholeheartedly devoted to the Renaissance of African people, in general.

In Cultural Alienation, he tackles and dissects the subject of alienation with the dexterity of a skillful surgeon. His solid and factual arguments are vindicated when the reader opens his/her mind’s eyes to cogitate on this very impediment that contravenes our advancement.

Cultural Alienation targets readers of African descent in particular. It offers a pathway out of alienation. After reading this very important book, the reader will no longer see himself in the mirror as the defective clone of a Caucasian, or his marionette. His thought processes will no longer be made of unconvincing pastiches of the European construct. No longer will he accept to be defined by others. He will know who he is or, at least, be on the path of self- discovery because his innate curiosity will get the best of him. He will seek KNOWLEDGE. His purgation will then begin.

The writer chooses Afrocentricity as the bedrock of this book because it brings order into chaos. Afrocentricity helps us find our center. There we become the subject, the principal actor, and not the object, or an extra on a movie set. As it is, Cultural Alienation barely scratches the surface of this multidimensional topic. Nonetheless, the delivery of the subject, including Omotunde’s methodology, holds sway over minds. The content of this book will percolate into the reader’s soul. In the end, he will feel like a traveler who, after a long walk in the desert, stops at an oasis to quench his thirst.
